Good Eats By Season!
Thank you Amazon for making Good Eats available by season! Food Network stopped at Season 2 and the dvd are crazy to get hold of and organized by category. For those of us who love Good Eats and Alton Brown streaming works well because I can stream it to either my laptop or my Kindle for portability into my kitchen. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was there was some episode discrepancies. 'Twas the Night before Good Eats is missing from Season 13, Cran Opening (ep 11) is missing from Season 12 and is replaced with a different episode. "Right On Q" (ep 23) and The final Good Eats episode "Turn On The Dark" are both missing from Season 13. However, if Amazon makes all the episodes available on Instant Video I won't quibble about that. Right now only 9, 12,13,and 14 are listed. Here is hoping Amazon treats us better than Food Network and the rest will show up very soon.
If you have never watched this show Alton Brown is smart, funny and you will learn more about...
Alton inspires success with the beef tenderloin.
Besides being a master entertainer and thorough scientist, Alton is an easy-to-follow instructor of his recipes. With both episodes of "Tender is the Loin," he turns an expensive cut of beef into several "affordable" meals. Tonight, my 5 grand kids not only enjoyed the pyrotechnics of the fire show making the filet mignon sauce, but the plates of every single one of them, including my daughter and wife, was wiped clean with the last morsel of meat! Don't think that's all they had: gravy from rendered fat from the "chain" (and earlier bacon fat) on Yukon Gold "smashed" potatoes - skin on, asparagus tips, and a fruit bowl of strawberries, pineapple, and blueberries. Truly gratifying to a grandfather/cook to watch it disappear. Thanks, Alton!
Amazing Avocados
Interesting and educational show. As always, I learned a lot. I love avocados so this was right up my alley. Albeit a season 9 show, the locales where filmed still exist on the Central California coast. Am planning a visit to Morro Bay soon to check it out and get some avocado oil. Well worth the watch!
