The Last Affair, an art film concerning a childless couple's attempts to secure a baby by way of surrogacy was being filmed in Chicago and Robert Flaxman and Daniel Goldman had carte blanch to document the process. The financial backers requested that first time feature director Henri Charr include explicit sex scene as a way to increase the marketibality of the project. This was during the porn chic era of the mid seventies when films such as The Opening of Misty Beethoven, Deep Throat and The Devil in Miss Jones were all the rage.
